Cirencester Civic Society

Take a fascinating guided walk round this historic town and learn some of its secrets: medieval streets - the architecture and street names - the traces of the vanished abbey - some of the colourful characters that have made our history - and much more. Walks take about 70 minutes in the company of an experienced volunteer guide.

Un-booked walks - just turn up on the day - are held on Sundays, and Bank Holiday Mondays from 1st April to 21st October. Additional unbooked walks will be added on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 18th July to 8th September. All are notified here and on the Town Notice Board in the Market Place.

Walks start at 3pm from the church porch in the Market Place —look for the golden sash! Charge is £2 per adult (children & students free) in aid of Civic Society projects.

All walks are suitable for children and  disabled people. The route is all on streets with a few standard kerbs to cross. We are never more than 10 minutes from the Market Square.

Additional walks for groups may be booked for any time of the year during daylight hours for small or large groups. If you have any special interest just let us know.
