Owing to the Government advice on Corona Virus precautions Town Walks are currently suspended. The following information should be ignored for the time being.

Come along and join one of the Civic Society volunteer guides for a walk around Cirencester to learn a little about the 2000-year history of this historic town. The guides are volunteers. All monies go to the Civic Society.

Our mid-year season for 2020 of un-booked Town Walks runs from Sat 4 April until Sat 31 October.

From 4 April until Sun 12 July we offer walks on every Saturday & Sunday.

From 12 July until Thursday 10 September there are walks on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday.

and then until Saturday 31 Oct back to every Saturday & Sunday.

There is a walk every Bank Holiday as well.

All walks start at the Church Porch in the Market Square at 2.30pm and last about 70 minutes. We ask for £3 per adult, children and students are free. Just turn up and join us.

Booked  Town Walks may be arranged for any daylight time except Christmas and New Years'Day For Booked Walks there is no minimum number. We can usually provide a guide during any daylight times. While we will always try to respond to very short notice requests – even only a few hours – there will always be a better chance of arranging a guide with as much notice as possible. We want you to enjoy your visit here as much as possible.

All walks are suitable for children and  disabled people. The route is all on streets with a few standard kerbs to cross. We are never more than 10 minutes from the Market Square.

For booked walks the administrative details and the historical content can be altered by agreement with the guide. (You could ask to be met at your hotel or to finish, for example, at a pub).   The cost is £3 per adult, students and children are free.
